This delightful family film follows the spirit, if not the letter, of Dickens’ sentimental tale with surprising faithfulness. If ever a frog was to play Bob Cratchitt, then it just had to be Kermit. Michael Caine makes an excellent Scrooge and remains unfazed by his puppet co-stars. Some good jokes for the grown-ups too in this, the third time the Muppets ventured onto celluloid.
